Splenda® sweetness is due to a chemical substance called sucralose, which contains no calorie sweetener, 600 times sweeter than sugar, which can be used as part of a healthy and balanced diet that helps reduce the amount of carbohydrates and carbohydrates.

Sucralose was discovered in 1976. in the Tate & Lyle labs at Queen Elizabeth College and in the same year the process of formation was patented. As a result of this process, sugar (sucrose) is processed into a non-caloric and almost carbohydrate-free sweetener. One Splenda® tablet (equivalent to 1 teaspoon of sugar tea) contains less carbohydrates than any other commercially available sweetener (less than 0.5 grams) and this is the amount necessary to give the product the desired volume and form of the tablet.

In addition, Splenda® is resistant to high temperatures (up to 220 ° C), which means that its chemical structure is not modified during the preparation of food at high temperature - thanks to Splenda® is the right product for use, for example when baking cakes (as opposed to to aspartame).
